TAROT 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR TAMMIKUUSSA 2026
Suomihevin pioneeri Tarot tekee odotetun paluun keikkalavoille tammikuussa 2026.
1980-luvun alkupuolella Tervossa perustettu, sittemmin kuopiolaistunut Tarot on todellinen Suomi-hevin tienraivaaja. Vuonna 1985 julkaistu debyyttialbumi "The Spell of Iron" on Tarotin soundin kulmakivi ja yksi suomalaisen metallihistorian tärkeimmistä levytyksistä. Lyhyelläkin matikalla osaa päätellä, että tästä merkkitapauksesta on kulunut tänä vuonna 40 vuotta ja sen kunniaksi Marco Hietala, Zachary Hietala, Janne Tolsa ja Tuple Salmela palaavat lavoille näyttämään miten sitä heavy metallia oikeasti soitetaan.
The Spell of Ironin julkaisun aikaan Tarot oli friikki suomalaisessa musiikkikentässä. Omaehtoinen, tinkimätön ja kansainvälisen tason metallibändi aikana, jolloin heavy metal ei soinut radioissa eikä genre todellakaan vielä ollut valtavirrassa. ”The Spell of Iron” ei ainoastaan aloittanut Tarotin uraa, vaan avasi tietä koko suomalaiselle metalliskenelle.
Keikat avaa melodisen metallin uuden sukupolven helmi, kotimainen Arion.

TAROT 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR IN JANUARY 2026
The true pioneers of Finnish heavy metal, Tarot, are making their long-awaited return to hit the stages in January 2026.
Formed in the early 1980s in Tervo and later based in Kuopio, Tarot paved the way for Finnish metal. Their 1985 debut album “The Spell of Iron” is the cornerstone of the Tarot sound and remains one of the most important releases in the history of Finnish metal. A quick bit of math tells you it’s now been 40 years since that milestone and to mark the occasion, Marco Hietala, Zachary Hietala, Janne Tolsa, and Tuple Salmela return to the stage to show how real heavy metal is done.
At the time of its release, ”The Spell of Iron” stood out as a total anomaly in the Finnish music scene. Self-driven, uncompromising, and on par with international standards, during a time when heavy metal didn’t get radio play and was as far from the mainstream as can be. The album did not only launch Tarot’s career but also helped blaze a trail for the entire Finnish metal scene.
Opening the shows is one of the finest gems of the new generation of melodic metal: Arion.
